Warriors forward Daniel Msendami has addressed growing transfer speculation linking him with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, insisting his focus remains on his current responsibilities.
The 25-year-old attacker is understood to have attracted attention from both Chiefs and Pirates earlier in the season, before Marumo Gallants won the race for his signature. Interest in the forward has since resurfaced following his involvement with the Warriors at the Africa Cup of Nations, fuelling fresh rumours ahead of the January transfer window.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Msendami acknowledged his long-term ambitions but played down immediate talk of a move.
“We play in order to someday play for big teams in top leagues, and I will keep pushing. As time goes on, I believe a better opportunity will come where I can showcase my talent,” he said.
“I don’t want to talk too much about my current contract. There was concrete interest before the season started, but if clubs really wanted me, they would have taken me.”
For now, the Zimbabwe international says his priority is performance rather than speculation.
“I’ll keep working hard and try to score more goals in the league,” he added.
Msendami’s comments are likely to do little to quiet the rumour mill, with his progress continuing to be closely monitored by some of the biggest clubs in South African football.
