‘Zimbabwean’ referee promoted to handle English Premier Soccer League matches

Farai Hallam, who has Zimbabwean roots through his mother, is one of six referees promoted to the English Premier Soccer League this season.

He was the fourth match official in the recent Liverpool versus Bournemouth game.

Before becoming a referee, Hallam was a professional footballer who played for Middlesbrough.
