Zimbabwe’s Europe-based players have linked up with the rest of the Warriors squad in Morocco as final preparations intensify ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which kicks off on December 21.
Among those who have now joined camp are Bill Antonio, Tawanda Chirewa, Tawanda Maswanhise, Andy Rinomhota, Brendan Galloway, Jonah Fabisch and Munashe Garan’anga, boosting head coach Marian Marinică’s options as the team sharpens up for the continental showpiece.
Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean Fusire is expected to arrive later today, completing the full squad assembly.
Warriors Arrive in Morocco
The Warriors touched down in Casablanca on Wednesday afternoon after departing Harare on Tuesday, following a two-week residential training camp in the capital. Foreign-based players who were released after weekend club duties travelled directly to Morocco.
Confirming the arrival, ZIFA said the squad had settled in well and immediately shifted focus to acclimatisation and tactical fine-tuning.
“The Zimbabwe Warriors have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, safely and in high spirits. Camp morale is strong and focus has fully shifted to acclimatisation and final preparations as the team sharpens its readiness for the AFCON challenge ahead,” ZIFA said in a statement.
The Warriors will be based at the Sofitel Hotel in Marrakech for the duration of the group stage.
