Zimbabwe Warriors forward Admiral Muskwe is beginning to show his quality at Morecambe FC after a slow start to life with the Shrimps. Having joined the club in summer 2025, Muskwe started slow but he has now burst into life with three strikes across two recent matches.
The turning point came in the 4–4 draw against Solihull Moors, where Muskwe netted twice — first pouncing on a Jack Nolan effort to turn it in from close range, before rising highest to loop a header beyond the goalkeeper. He followed that up with another well-taken finish in the 4–3 victory over Wealdstone FC, latching onto a through-ball from Jake Cain to score his third in two games. His sharp movement and aerial strength have made him a central figure in Morecambe’s recent attacking resurgence.
For the Warriors, Muskwe’s resurgence is timely. Zimbabwe have lacked cutting edge in recent international fixtures, and with the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco approaching, an in-form Muskwe could be vital in bolstering the frontline.
Other Zimbabweans Abroad
While Muskwe has been finding his feet in England’s lower leagues, several other Warriors abroad were also in action this past week:
Marshall Munetsi came off the bench for Wolves in their 3-1 Premier League defeat to Leeds, his second consecutive substitute appearance.
In Premier League 2, Tawanda Chirewa scored from the penalty spot in Wolves U21s’ 3-2 loss to Arsenal U21.
Sean Fusire made a late cameo in Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Portsmouth in the Championship, while Brendan Galloway featured off the bench for Plymouth Argyle in a 1-0 defeat to Peterborough.
Marvelous Nakamba remains sidelined at Luton Town, with no matchday involvement so far this season.
In Scotland, Tawanda Maswanhise started and completed 90 minutes as Motherwell edged Aberdeen 1-0.
Bill Antonio saw minutes in Belgium, coming on in KV Mechelen’s 0-0 draw with Cercle Brugge.
Jordan Zemura returned to Serie A action with Udinese, playing the full game in a 3-0 loss to AC Milan.
On the continental stage, striker Prince Dube scored Young Africans’ third goal in their 3-0 CAF Champions League win over Angola’s Wiliete SC.
Signs of Resurgence
Between Muskwe’s goalscoring burst at Morecambe and Dube’s Champions League strike for Young Africans, Zimbabwe’s forward line abroad has shown encouraging signs of form. With Munetsi, Zemura, and Maswanhise all clocking minutes in Europe’s top leagues, the Warriors’ overseas contingent continues to gain experience that could prove crucial for the national team ahead of AFCON 2025.
