The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is set to officially announce the new Warriors head coach today on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
This is according to an earlier statement by association president Nqobile Magwizi.
Speaking on SuperSport’s Soccer Africa during the show’s 1,000th episode on Thursday evening, Magwizi pointed out that the selection process to replace former coach Michael Nees was at an advanced stage.
He said the announcement is expected to be made between Monday or Tuesday this week.
The race to become the next Warriors head coach attracted huge global attention, with former Newcastle United and Ghana boss Chris Hughton among more than 200 applicants vying for the position.
The Head Coach will lead, manage and develop the Zimbabwe National Men’s Team (“The Warriors”) to achieve competitive excellence in COSAFA, AFCON and FIFA competitions.
The role includes team selection, tactical strategy, training and performance management, aligned with ZIFA’s National Football Development Strategy.
