ZIFA Congratulates Simba Bhora on Historic CAF Victory

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has congratulated Simba Bhora on their hard-fought 1-0 away triumph over Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs in the first leg of their maiden CAF interclub campaign.

The match, played last Sunday at the Obed Itan Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, was a landmark occasion as Simba Bhora proudly represented Zimbabwe on the continental stage for the first time.

ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi hailed the victory as a symbol of national pride and resilience:

“This achievement is more than just a win on the pitch. It is a proud moment for our country, as Simba Bhora flies the Zimbabwean flag high in continental football.”

Looking ahead to the decisive return leg this Sunday, Magwizi reaffirmed ZIFA’s full backing for the club and called on all Zimbabweans to unite in support:

“Every Zimbabwean is behind you, urging you to secure qualification into the next round. With focus, determination, and collective spirit, Simba Bhora can once again rise to the occasion.”

The ZIFA President also commended the players, technical staff, and club leadership for their commitment, noting the broader impact of their journey:

“Your performance inspires young footballers across the nation and strengthens our vision for the future of Zimbabwean football. Play with courage, play with pride, and remember that you carry the hopes of a nation with you.”
