Yvonne Mangunda Reflects on Tino Kadewere Clash: Mistakes Were Made Both Ends

Lessons Learnt, Life Continues – Yvonne Mangunda Breaks Silence After Kadewere Incident

Zimbabwean sports journalist Yvonne Mangunda has spoken out after her highly publicised confrontation with Warriors striker Tino Kadewere in Soweto.

In a reflective statement, Mangunda admitted the saga was painful but also a moment of growth, saying:

“I have grown as an individual in the past 50 plus hours… Nothing will phase me because the worst has been said and done.”

She revealed her biggest regret was how long-standing ties with Kadewere were dragged into the public eye:

“People who grew up in the same hood, whose mothers knew each other, became a topic of social media streets. Mistakes were done both sides. Lessons learnt, life continues.”

The altercation, in which Kadewere allegedly poked her while accusing her of spreading lies, prompted ZIFA to condemn the incident and drop the forward from the squad against Rwanda.

Despite criticism, Mangunda reaffirmed her commitment to sports journalism:

“My passion is to tell Zimbabwe sports stories and that will not stop. Lessons have been learnt but the desire has increased.”

She thanked colleagues and fans for their support and promised to continue covering local football, starting with the PSL fixtures.
