Zimbabwean defender Shane Maroodza has been released by Irish First Division side Kerry FC just four days after joining the club.
Maroodza, a former Huddersfield Town Academy player, was officially unveiled by Kerry FC over the weekend following a free transfer move. He made a single appearance in a league match before parting ways with the club.
The 21-year-old is now expected to return to England, where he was previously based.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Kerry FC confirmed the departure of both Maroodza and another player, Mathyas Randriamamy, citing a misalignment of values:
“Mathyas Randriamamy and Shane Maroodza have been released from Kerry FC.
Unfortunately, their values and principles didn’t match the standards of the club.”
