Warriors expand provisional AFCON squad with four new call-ups

The Warriors’ provisional squad for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations has grown to 55 players following the inclusion of four locally based stars.

ZIFA confirmed the latest updates, noting that the technical team made the additions “to broaden the pool in specific positions” as preparations intensify ahead of the continental showpiece.

Simba Bhora defender Ishmael Nyanhi, FC Platinum midfielder Jarrison Selemani, ZPC Kariba winger Genius Hute, and Sheasham’s Central Region Division One standout Wilfred Madzungu have all been drafted into the extended group.

The squad will later be reduced to a maximum of twenty-eight players. Twenty-three will form the final AFCON list, while five others will be kept as standby options.
