Warriors Draw Eswatini in 2024 CHAN Qualifiers, Zim CHAN Squad Named

The Zimbabwean national team has been drawn to face Eswatini in the opening round of the 2024 CHAN qualifiers. This marks Zimbabwe’s return to the competition after missing the last edition due to an international ban.

The locally-based Warriors will kick off their campaign on the weekend of 25-27 October 2024. The winner of this tie will advance to the second round to face Madagascar, who received a bye in the first round.

If successful, Zimbabwe will qualify for the CHAN finals, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 1-28 February 2025. This edition will be the first time the tournament is held across three host nations.

The upcoming tournament will feature a total of 19 teams, an increase from 18 in the previous edition. This expansion is due to the automatic qualification of the three host nations, which resulted in an additional slot being allocated for the CECAFA region.
