Warriors Add Msendami to Squad for Crucial World Cup Qualifiers

Zimbabwe Warriors coach Michael Nees has strengthened his squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with the late inclusion of forward Daniel Msendami.

The Marumo Gallants winger, who has been in fine form in the South African Premiership, was not part of the initial squad announced earlier this week. However, his club confirmed the call-up in a celebratory statement:

“Best of luck to our electric winger, Daniel Msendami, on your national call-up. We’re proud to see you fly the flag high and showcase your talent on the international stage. Your Gallants family is behind you all the way!”

Msendami’s pace and creativity on the flanks are expected to give Nees an additional attacking option as Zimbabwe prepare for two decisive Group C encounters.

The Warriors will first face South Africa at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 10 October, before travelling to Polokwane to play Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 13 October.
