Zim prospect in Chelsea squad for European competition
Shamaira Mheuka has officially signed his first professional contract with Chelsea. The 17-year-old forward is set to feature in Chelsea’s squad for tonight’s Europa Conference League clash against Panathinaikos. Mheuka, who joined Chelsea two years ago from Brighton, has been impressing as both a striker and a winger.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca commented during a press conference: “Shim, we use him as a striker and as a winger. They (Mheuka and Sam Rak-Sakyi) are good profiles, young ones, and it will be a good experience for them to stay with us.”
Mheuka is also eligible to represent Zimbabwe internationally through his parents. His father was a former footballer for Circle Cement and the Zimbabwe national team.
