Dates Locked In: Zimbabwe vs Algeria (Nov 13) and Qatar (Nov 17)
ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi highlighted the strategic reasoning behind the chosen opponents, noting the stylistic similarities between Algeria and Egypt — one of Zimbabwe’s AFCON group opponents.
“Algeria’s choice was deliberate, knowing that at the AFCON finals we will be playing Egypt, and the style of play between Egypt and Algeria is almost the same. So, we have those matches that are coming up,” said Magwizi.
Both matches in Saudi Arabia and Qatar are expected to provide valuable competitive experience for the squad as they fine-tune combinations and fitness ahead of the AFCON finals.
