SA to Play ‘Zim Away’ Match at Moses Mabhida: Durban to Stage Zimbabwe vs South Africa

ZIFA Confirms Warriors’ World Cup Qualifier Against South Africa to Be Played in Durban

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced that the Warriors’ 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C clash against South Africa will now take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday, 10 October 2025. Kick-off is set for 3 pm CAT.

The match was initially planned for Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, but the venue became unavailable due to Botswana’s own World Cup fixtures. After assessing options, ZIFA settled on Moses Mabhida Stadium over Orlando Stadium, citing logistics, cost, facilities, and fan safety as key factors.

Zimbabwe has been forced to play its “home” fixtures abroad as no local stadium currently meets CAF requirements. Durban, which has previously hosted the Warriors, will once again provide the backdrop as they continue their push for qualification.

ZIFA acknowledged fans’ disappointment but urged Zimbabweans to unite and support the team in this crucial encounter.
