The Ngezi Platinum Stars are facing a major financial headache after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld FIFA’s ruling that the club must pay former assistant coach Bongani Mafu US$196,750 for unfair dismissal.
Mafu had signed a four‑year deal with Ngezi in March 2022 but was dismissed just four months later in July.
The club is also battling a similar case involving former head coach Benjani Mwaruwari.
FIFA has ordered Ngezi Platinum to pay him around US$600,000 for unfair dismissal.
These rulings come as a heavy blow to the club’s finances, and failure to settle could lead to further sanctions such as transfer bans.
Ngezi Platinum now faces a crucial period to manage its obligations and protect the team’s stability. -The Scout
