Nakamba Returns as Luton Beat Leyton Orient 2-1 in Friendly

Zimbabwe Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba made his return to action on Wednesday afternoon, featuring for Luton Town’s U21 side in a 2-1 friendly win over Leyton Orient.

The midfielder, who had been training alone in recent weeks, had not taken part in any of the senior team’s pre-season friendlies and also missed the League One season opener against AFC Wimbledon last Friday.

Nakamba was named in the U21 starting XI for the friendly, marking his first appearance since the end of last season.

His absence from competitive fixtures has fuelled speculation over a potential move away from Luton following their relegation from the Championship. Head coach Matt Bloomfield has admitted he is open to allowing the 30-year-old to leave — but only if the right offer comes in.

As the new season gets underway, no firm interest in Nakamba’s services has yet been reported.
