Munetsi Strikes Again as Warriors Star Peaks Ahead of AFCON Finals

Zimbabwe vice-captain continues Premier League scoring form for Wolves

Zimbabwe’s midfield dynamo Marshall Munetsi is finding top form at the perfect time for both club and country, after scoring again for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 3–2 defeat to Burnley at Molineux on Sunday.

The Warriors vice-captain, who netted in the Carabao Cup win over Everton and followed up with another strike against Brighton last week, rose highest in first-half stoppage time to head home Ladislav Krejčí’s cross and level the score at 2–2.

It was Munetsi’s third goal in four games, underlining his growing influence and consistency in England’s top flight. His combination of tireless running, defensive awareness, and attacking instincts has made him one of Wolves’ standout performers in an otherwise difficult start to their Premier League season.

Although Burnley snatched a dramatic stoppage-time winner through Lyle Foster, Wolves fans once again applauded Munetsi’s leadership and fighting spirit — qualities that have also made him a key figure for Zimbabwe’s Warriors, who head to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco this December.

With Zimbabwe drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, Angola, and South Africa, Munetsi’s sharpness and confidence will be vital as the team prepares for its first AFCON appearance since the FIFA suspension was lifted.
