With several Warriors players shaping the weekend’s results, the PSL continues to double as both a title battleground and a platform for national team stars to sharpen their form ahead of World Cup qualifiers.
Dynamos stretched their winning streak in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after outlasting title contenders Scottland FC 3-2 in a pulsating encounter at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
Scottland drew first blood in the 37th minute when in-form striker Tymon Machope broke the deadlock. But the Glamour Boys roared back after the interval, with Shadreck Nyahwa levelling just four minutes into the second half. Vusi Ngwenya then turned the game in DeMbare’s favour with a 65th-minute strike.
Machope responded again for the visitors 10 minutes later, completing his brace to restore parity. However, former Scottland midfielder Denver Mukamba proved the match-winner, volleying home in the 80th minute to seal victory for his new club—his first goal since arriving in the mid-season transfer window.
The result lifted Dynamos to 28 points, although they remain stuck in 17th place in the relegation zone. Scottland, despite the defeat, stayed second on the log, two points adrift of leaders Simba Bhora.
Simba failed to widen the gap at the top after being held to a goalless draw by Greenfuel, with head coach Joel Luphahla sent off late in the second half.
