The Minister of Sports Lt Gen (Rtd) Ambassador Ansleem Sanyatwe has rallied the nation behind the senior national football team the Warriors as they take on Benin in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Cote d’Ivoire this evening.
Kick off is 18:00 hrs Central African Time.
In a statement Sanyatwe said as Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture and on behalf of the Government and the people of Zimbabwe, he would like to extend his heartfelt best wishes to men’s senior national football team.
He told the Warriors, that they carry the hopes, dreams and spirit of the entire nation, and should give their best.
To the players who will be doing the job on behalf of the nation, he said: “Step onto that pitch with courage, not fear,” urging them to make the nation proud.
