Breaking News: Warriors Squad Named for FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers vs Benin, Rwanda

Harare, 28 August 2025 – The Zimbabwe Warriors have announced their 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers against Benin 🇧🇯 and Rwanda 🇷🇼, in what promises to be a defining international window for coach Michael Nees’ men.

The Warriors will first travel to Côte d’Ivoire for their Matchday 7 clash against Benin on Friday, 5 September, before returning to host Rwanda at their adopted “home” ground, Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, on Tuesday, 9 September.

There are new names in the squad some of them have been covered here on this platform; Thando Ngwenya, Propser Padera, Sean Fusire and Jonah Fabish.

Injuries and Absentees

The biggest talking point is the absence of Khama Billiat, who has been ruled out through injury. Young goalkeeper Marley Tavaziva also misses out due to injury concerns, while midfielder Andy Rinomhota has been included but is currently finalising a move to a new club.
