Zimbabwe will be without captain Marvelous Nakamba, Teenage Hadebe and Divine Lunga when they face Rwanda on Tuesday afternoon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The trio is suspended after accumulating two yellow cards each during the campaign. All three received their second cautions in Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Benin on Matchday 7.
Nakamba’s first booking came against Nigeria in November 2023.
Hadebe’s earlier caution was in the 2-0 loss to Lesotho in June 2024.
Lunga picked up his first yellow in the first leg against Benin.
Their absence strips the Warriors of three starters from last week’s XI, leaving coach Michael Nees to rethink his defensive and midfield structure.
On the positive side, Marshall Munetsi returns from suspension and will captain the Warriors in Nakamba’s absence. The Wolves midfielder trained with the squad on Sunday and is expected to anchor the midfield and provide leadership.
Simba Bhora defender Ishe Mauchi has also joined camp to provide extra cover in defence, while youngsters like Prosper Padera, Tivonge Rushesha and Thando Ngwenya could be in line for opportunities.
