Tinotenda Kadewere made his league debut for Greek top flight club Aris Thessaloniki on Saturday after coming on as a late substitute in the season opener against Volos.
Kadewere, who joined the club last month on a free transfer from French Ligue 1 side Nantes, played the final two minutes of the game as Aris secured a 2-0 victory.
In the Scottish Premiership, Tawanda Maswanhise was on target for Motherwell in their thrilling 3-3 draw against Hearts.
The Zimbabwean winger struck in the 49th minute to double Motherwell’s advantage after they had gone ahead earlier in the first half.
It was his first league goal of the 2025/26 campaign, adding to the four goals he had already scored in the Scottish League Cup, taking his overall tally to five across all competitions.
In the English Premier League, Marshall Munetsi retained his place in the Wolves starting XI in their 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Munetsi played the entire match but had limited chances as Wolves struggled for most of the contest.
Their situation worsened when Toti Gomes was sent off with a straight red card early in the second half. Tawanda Chirewa was once again absent from the Wolves matchday squad.
In the English Championship, Sean Fusire made a late cameo in Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-2 draw against Wrexham. The young midfielder has now featured in all three league games, starting once.
Elsewhere in England, Marvelous Nakamba was again unavailable as Luton Town suffered a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City in the League One.
Brendan Galloway captained Plymouth Argyle once more in the absence of regular skipper Joe Edwards. The Zimbabwe international led Argyle to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Blackpool in League One before being substituted in the 70th minute after feeling tightness in his calf.
Midfielder Tivonge Rushesha was not included in Reading’s matchday squad for their clash with Wycombe.
In Belgium, KV Mechelen winger Bill Antonio played the final 30 minutes in their 2-1 defeat to Antwerp in the Pro League. Meanwhile, Munashe Garananga was an unused substitute in FC Copenhagen’s 1-1 draw against OB in the Danish Superliga.
In the United States, Teenage Hadebe remained on the bench as an unused substitute for FC Cincinnati in their 1-0 loss to New York City.
