Warriors coach Michael Nees says the reunion of Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona at Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Scottland FC could significantly strengthen Zimbabwe’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hopes.
Musona recently joined Scottland, where he will link up with his former Warriors strike partner Billiat. The duo’s partnership has long been central to Zimbabwe’s success on the international stage.
Speaking to Herald Online, Nees welcomed the move:
“I think it’s very good for them to be playing in one team. Scottland FC is a high-level team with many top players, and they are investing heavily in football. Khama and Knowledge’s reunion could be good for our AFCON ambitions, as they get to interact more often,” Nees said.
The German tactician also promised to honour the pair as they near the twilight of their international careers.
“We need to give them a perfect and proper farewell to their international career — and we will give them one,” he added.
