Rising Zimbabwe Warriors prospect Shumaira Mheuka was the star of the show on Monday night as he fired a brilliant hat-trick to help Chelsea Under-21s secure their first Premier League 2 victory of the season, beating defending champions Manchester City 3–1 at Kingsmeadow.
Captaining the side, Mheuka opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time with a towering header. Just moments into the second half, he doubled Chelsea’s lead with another superb header from Genesis Antwi’s cross. After City pulled one back, the 18-year-old sealed his treble late on, showing composure to race clear and slot home the third.
The young striker’s all-round display — leadership, movement, and clinical finishing — underlined why he is one of Zimbabwe’s most exciting prospects abroad. His performance not only gave Chelsea a winning start to their campaign but also further strengthened hopes that he could play a key role for the Warriors in the future.
