Mighty Warriors depart for Malawi as final squad confirmed

The Zimbabwe senior women’s national team will leave for Malawi today ahead of the Three Nations Women’s Tournament, which kicks off tomorrow at Bingu National Stadium.

Zimbabwe face the hosts Malawi in the opening match at 5pm, before wrapping up the competition against Zambia on December 2. The nation with the most points will be crowned champions.

This tournament marks the Mighty Warriors’ first competitive action since February, when they played Angola in the AWCON qualifiers. ZIFA CEO Yvonne Manwa said the trip aligns with the newly launched Women’s Football Strategy, emphasising increased participation and more international matches in the build-up to future competitions.
