Warriors forward Prince Dube finally opened his account for the season with a decisive 59th-minute finish as Young Africans edged AS FAR 1–0 in their CAF Champions League Group B clash at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
The Zimbabwean striker struck just before the hour mark, delivering the breakthrough in a match that had been cagey and evenly contested for long spells. His clinical effort ultimately proved the match-winner against the experienced Moroccan outfit.
The victory keeps Yanga firmly in the qualification race. They sit second in Group B, level on points with leaders Al Ahly but trailing only on goal difference.
Yanga now turn their attention to a tricky away fixture against Algeria’s JS Kabylie on 28 November as they look to strengthen their push for a knockout-stage berth.
