Warriors head coach Marian Mario Marinica has said the team is currently at 40 percent of what he wants it to be.
He made these sentiments after a 3๏ธโฃโช๏ธ1๏ธโฃ defeat to Algeria and a 2๏ธโฃโช๏ธ1๏ธโฃ victory over Qatar.
โWell, we have a very tough road ahead. I think we are probably around 40 percent of where actually I want the team to be.
“There are lots of things we need to work on, particularly on the tactical element.
“Also, players who probably need to shape up and do not work quite a lot on the physical element.
โWe had a discussion after the match (against Qatar). We gave them some assignments, and we hope that everyone, including the local players, goes to the gym.
“We have given them some assignments to observe the three opponents: Egypt, Angola, and South Africa. This way, players are going to come very well prepared,โ he said.
He praised the Warriorsโ second-half display against Algeria and Qatar, despite limited fitness preparation.

Marinica revealed he has already spoken with Marshall Munetsi, who was excused from Algeria and Qatar friendlies, and Tawanda Chirewa who was included in a limited capacity to allow them to focus on their club.
He added that Jordan Zemura is being closely monitored, and discussions with him are expected soon.
โWe want to monitor everyoneโs progress and make sure they are ready physically and tactically,โ he explained.
He said they would want to have every capable player on board.
