The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi says the local football mother body will do everything in its power to make sure that locally based players get international exposure.
“…we are also ensuring that local players gain meaningful international exposure, while our foreign-based stars are given the chance to reconnect with the national setup and share their experience,” he says.
Meanwhile, ZIFA has joined the Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) board led by Chairperson Chido Chizondo and Vice Chairperson Lewis Muzhara, at the 2025 champions trophy presentation where Herentals Queens were officially crowned league winners.
“A massive congratulations to Herentals Queens on their well-deserved 2025 championship title.
“Your consistency, discipline and brilliance throughout the season have raised the bar for women’s football in Zimbabwe.
“At ZIFA, the growth of the women’s game remains a top strategic priority.
“We are committed to strengthening pathways, enhancing competitiveness and ensuring platforms like the ZWPSL continue to thrive.
“Women’s football is not just part of our future – it is central to our vision for a more inclusive and progressive Zimbabwean football ecosystem,” says the organization.
