Nakamba rallies his troops ahead of Qatar encounter

The Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba says there is peace and tranquility within the camp ahead of tonight’s friendly against Qatar.

He refuted reports alleging that there is no peace in the camp.

“The camp is not divided. We are one, we are Zimbabweans, we need to support each other and also for us as boys we are pushing each other trying to adjust to implement the new philosophy from the coach,” said Nakamba.

Apparently, the Warriors are hoping to put an end to their winless streak this evening when they play Qatar at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in an international friendly match.

Kick off is 18:30pm Central African Time.

Zimbabwe last won a match in October 2023 when they beat Namibia 3-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Zimbabwe coach Marian Marinica said:

“We must select the most in-form players at this point in time to take us to AFCON and achieve what we want.

“The country has to be behind us, and the players must accept that, at the end of the day, we are here for them and they are all going to become the heroes.”
