Ngezi Platinum coach Takesure Chiragwi fined US$4000 by PSL for slapping a player

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has delivered their judgment on Ngezi Platinum head coach Takesure Chiragwi, who slapped his own player during a league match against Dynamos.

Chiragwi has been fined $4000 for that unbecoming incident, while his club Ngezi Platinum received $5000 fine.

In handing their judgement, the PSL said: “In reaching its decision, the Disciplinary Committee took cognisance of the coach’s public apology to the player, the League and all stakeholders.

“The Committee also considered his accountability, remorse and the punitive internal disciplinary measures already instituted by his Club without delay.

“Notice was further taken of the coach’s suspension from official duties and his voluntary decision to step down from his position as Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Team Assistant Coach during the recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”
