Rodwell Thabe has been appointed the substantive Premier Soccer League (PSL) chief executive officer (CEO), having acted in that capacity since February 2025.
One of his first key tasks will be handling the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s proposal to expand the premiership from 18 to 20 teams and establishment of a National First Division.
According to reports, the expansion proposal has already been approved, and will involve a playoff featuring the four relegated teams and the four regional league runners-up, with the top 2 teams promoted to make it 20 teams.
