Zimbabwean players in foreign lands weekend round-up

Wolves duo Marshall Munetsi and Tawanda Chirewa were part of the matchday squad that lost 3–0 to Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Munetsi came on in the 70th minute and played the remainder of the match, while Chirewa remained an unused substitute.

In the English Championship, Sean Fusire started and played the full match as a right wing-back in Sheffield Wednesday’s 3–1 defeat to Southampton.

Fusire has been operating in the wing-back role following his switch from central midfield.

Brendan Galloway retained his place in Plymouth Argyle’s starting XI for their 3–1 loss to Huddersfield – his third successive league appearance.

Reading’s Tivonge Rushesha was not part of the matchday squad in their 1–0 win over Stevenage, while Luton Town midfielder Marvelous Nakamba missed the weekend’s action.

In Serie A, Jordan Zemura came on as a late second-half substitute in Udinese’s 2–0 defeat to Roma.

Elsewhere, Denmark-based defender Munashe Garananga started and completed the full match as FC Copenhagen lost 2–0 to Vejle BK.

In Scotland, Tawanda Maswanhise started for Motherwell but was later substituted in the 1–1 draw against Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, in Belgium, Bill Antonio featured as a substitute in KV Mechelen’s 1–1 draw with Union SG.
