TelOne striker Washington “Navigator” Navaya has at last got his first national team cap after being included in the Warriors squad for the forthcoming friendlies.
Navaya currently leads the golden boot race in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with 17 goals from 32 matches.
The red-hot TelOne forward has a chance to break the 15-year jinx of reaching or surpassing the 20-goal mark.
The last player to surpass the 20-goal bar was the late Dynamos striker Norman Maroto, who netted 22 goals during the 2010 season.
Meanwhile, Navaya had seemingly been underrated by former coach Michael Nees, who could not include him in his team despite current form.
Some suggest that Navaya did not fit Nees’ tactical system.
