The Chapungu Football Club has recovered its old soccer kitwhich was donated to another team by the club’s late coach, Tawanda Marimo.
The Air Force of Zimbabwe which runs Chapungu Football Club alleges that the soccer kit was donated to Mambo FC without board approval.
Writing about the incident, sports journalist Fanwell Viriri said it is embarrassing for the Air Force of Zimbabwe to go after donated materials.
“It is however an embarrasing incident for such big organisation like the Air Force of Zimbabwe to embark on such a recovery exercise of a hand me down soccer kit.
“This is a big dent on their public image.
“The base commander of Josiah Tungamirai Airbase (formerly Thornhill) Group Captaib Mahlangu wrote to the community club requesting the kit to be returned,” he writes.
