The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) will today be closing applications for the vacant Warriors head coach position.
Apperantly all eyes are on who will lead the team into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and beyond.
While local coaches have been ruled out of the race for the top job as they lack required qualifications, it is believed that Joel Luphahla and Tonderai Ndiraya would be named as assistant coaches in the soon-to-be-unveiled Warriors technical team.
ZIFA sacked German coach Michael Nees last week after a year in charge.
According to a vacancy notice issued on Monday, applicants must hold a CAF or UEFA Pro Licence, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification.
A tertiary qualification in sport science, coaching or football management will be considered an added advantage.
In other news, South Africa, Zambia, and Malawi will represent the Southern Africa region at the 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to be hosted by Morocco.
Of the three, Malawi will be making its debut at the tournament, while for South Africa, this will be the 14th appearance.
