ZIFA Launches Inquiry into Sheasham FC Withdrawal

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has appointed a Commission of Inquiry to probe Sheasham FC’s withdrawal from the Central Region Division One League amid allegations of poor officiating and administrative irregularities.

The decision was made following a ZIFA Executive Committee meeting on 9 October, acting on recommendations from the Legal and Player Status Committee.

Chaired by legal expert Ringisai Kudzanai Hillario Mapondera, the four-member Commission also includes Jabulani Mpofu, Morelet S. Mathema, and Andrew Pamire.

The panel will investigate the circumstances of the withdrawal, review the handling of complaints by league officials, and assess whether Sheasham exhausted all internal remedies before pulling out. A report is expected within seven working days.

ZIFA described the move as a corrective step aimed at restoring fairness, integrity, and transparency in football administration.
