Maswanhise and Lunga Ruled Out of Lesotho Clash, Confirms ZIFA
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed that Tawanda Maswanhise and Divine Lunga will miss tonight’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
In an official statement released on Monday, ZIFA explained that Maswanhise is unavailable due to a misplaced passport, which has affected his eligibility to play. The matter is being handled urgently with the relevant authorities to ensure it is resolved swiftly.
Meanwhile, Lunga has been excused from the squad following a family bereavement. The Association extended its condolences to the player and his family during this difficult period.
Despite the absences, ZIFA emphasised that both players remain key members of the Warriors setup. The team, led by coach Michael Nees, remains focused, united, and determined to deliver a strong performance against Lesotho as they close out their Group C campaign.
